On the contrary, Chiaki changes into a yukata and heads out to the open-air bath, which happens to be co-ed. Her shinchirin proves to be a real conversation starter as she bonds with another inn guest in the bath while roasting fish. When a young man shows up Chiaki yells at him for not exhibiting proper mixed bathing etiquette, but they eventually call a truce. After running through that rather sobering scenario in her head, she begins frantically vacuuming and tidying up her apartment. With that finished, she finds one of her notebooks and starts worrying that they may discover some of her lame poetry and make fun of it, so she decides she must incinerate it all before she dies.
