Don't post western material

Let me remind you that this forum is restricted to all kind of material coming from Japan (and Eastern Asia by extension), so it excludes material coming from other places.Lately a lot of 3D stuff coming from western games like Skyrim have been posted, and this is not correct.Western material is not allowed in general, this section is no exception. As many posts are fairly old, I did not delete them all, and some threads I closed only. Please understand this rule from now on.I regret to inform that I will no longer be creating or sharing any of my 3D artwork here. As you can see by this post, I have received an infraction/warning and been advised by the staff here that they would rather see me share artwork stolen from Japanese/Asian Artists that I don't hold copyright to or own, rather than share 3D artwork that I create myself and hold all rights to. I want to thank everyone that had supported me in my artwork and encouraged me to continue with my comic. It was fun while it lasted and I wish all of you the best.~WeepingAngels^ Now I get why your chose to name yourself "weeping". Don't get so melodramatic. It's not about copyright or anything. This place, the whole forum, is for Asian content only. There are other communities for work likes yours. If you want to share it here just add a link to your website in your signature or something.Don't take a simple enforcement of the rules as a personal attack against yourself. It's like joining a community that is strictly about cars and then complaining that you are not allowed to post boats.Considering most imageboards don't even allow 3D work to be shared I myself see no problem. Then again I have made it no secret that I prefer 2D art, though some 3D animations are pretty effing cool. As far as having posts removed I did, without thinking, post some Simpsons porn here once. I could not really blame the mods for deleting the post. I have had an infraction in the past myself and I can tell you from experience, it does piss a member off: especially when one doesn't believe he deserved the infraction. The moderators do the best they can and to discourage undesired behavior and they will hand out infractions, delete posts, close threads and ban members. They have a very tough job and they do it for free. Personally I think they do a fantastic job and if every decision they make doesn't go the way we wish it to....that is just life.I agree Ceewan, the moderators do an awesome job, work hard for very little recognition or reward!! I commend then on their dedication to the website and to the members here, they keep things running without a doubt. My frustration is the fact that Chompy created this account for me specifically for me to post my work. I have been a member of this website as another username since 2006 and have been around since it first opened and I am probably the only person here that has been granted a private second account with the purpose of keeping my identity private and still be able to share my artwork. So when I received this infraction and was told that I was not to post "western material" I was a bit confused, as I had already informed Chompy what I would be doing when this username was spawned just for that purpose two years ago.I have not bothered Chompy about this situation and will abide by the rules that the moderators are instructed to enforce. It is disappointing, but do not wish to be a burden to anyone. I will shift fully back over to my main account and continue to contribute in the areas that I have in the past and let this username fall by the wayside.~WeepingAngelstl;drIt's okay to post copyrighted works by Japanese companies/individuals but not anything by Western(US) companies because they might sue us.Quote:Originally Posted by WeepingAngelsSo when I received this infraction and was told that I was not to post "western material" I was a bit confused, as I had already informed Chompy what I would be doing when this username was spawned just for that purpose two years ago.I have not bothered Chompy about this situation and will abide by the rules that the moderators are instructed to enforce. I have known Chompy and by proxy his staff to on occasion change a members name for them. They don't like to do it because it just encourages others who wish to do the same and with the thousands of members here that is just extra work an overlaoded staff just doesn't need. I have never even heard a whisper that it is okay to have more than one account per member. Not when I was a mod and not before or after. To the best of my knowledge the admins and mods even obey this rule, and yes, I asked many of them when I was a mod here. There are very few guidelines set down of the moderators here. While the admins at AO have the last word on the rules and on any disagreements in policy generally the staff is free to decide what is and what isn't okay for Akiba-Online. While training a moderator this might be different but once they reach super-mod status and know the ropes they are pretty much the law here and the admins, including Chompy, give them their full support. So even if you went to Chompy I truly believe that he would stand by the moderators decision.I used to exchange pms' with Chompy from time to time. He is basically a pretty easy going guy and I like him. However whenever I asked him if something I wanted to post might or might not be against the rules his general reply was usually the same; "It is okay with me but I can't speak for the mods. If they find the post in violation of the rules they might still give you an infraction." Knowing this I find it hard to believe you were not given advice along the same lines. I am not trying to call you a liar, I am just saying your claims do not fall in line with what I have learned since I have been here. If you still have the pms' from Chompy regarding all of this, then perhaps you could just send copies of such to elgringo14 and he might remove your infraction, although I do not expect him to change his ruling, which was likely discussed among the moderators before it was made in this instance.Maybe a Alien asian laser beam of love from outerspace can hit his western style art and viola turn them into what will pass the mustar.Quote:Originally Posted by CeewanThere are a few curious things about this statement: Having a dual account is a bannable offense. He did it as a favor to me, for which I am most grateful. He allowed me to share with everyone my interest without threat of losing the reputation in the business world that I've worked so hard to establish and maintain publicly.I would have to dig through my e-mails which I do still have and yes, I could forward them to the moderators, but at this point, I feel that doing so would create a situation that would only create further confusion within this community if one person was allow to continue to post work that didn't conform to the standards that have now been publically enforced, while others would not be able to.My initial reaction was one caused by confusion and disappointment that I would no longer get to share my artwork with the community. I enjoy contributing, I don't like being a leech and not giving back... my artwork and stories were a way in which to do that. I thought the reason that my stuff was infracted was because they believed that I violated copyright, upon further conversations with patient individuals, it is to avoid others from doing so and putting this website at risk... which is something I never want to see happen, as it has become my home since leaving HF long, long ago.I appreciate you taking the time to speak with me, Ceewan and sharing your thoughts on it as well. Thank you. I will let things be as they should be.~WeepingAngelsIt was not me who gave an infraction to WeepingAngels, and it was not even an infraction, but a warning only. I think the discussion is going too far on details, the main point is still the first post.
